About UK Student Residences

UK Student Residences is an independent provider of student accommodation and English language tuition based in London, UK. We were originally founded in 2007 as an accommodation agency for international interns visiting London and developed an extensive database of accommodation.

This was a PSD to WordPress project and Webpop Design was not responsible for any of the design. The client wanted a pixel perfect replica of the supplied desktop and mobile designs developed on a custom WordPress theme. A booking engine was required for student accommodation across the UK with interactive maps, directions and routes to each location.

What We Did

The supplied PSD’s were converted into HTML templates using the bootstrap framework to create the responsive design. Once the HTML templates were complete they were converted into a fully functional WordPress theme.

We integrated Woocommerce Bookings into the new theme and created a variety of custom features to complement the existing functionality using Calendars, Google Maps and the Directions API. Automated imports for the property listings was configured to run with CRON on a daily basis. Since we developed the website, UK Student Residences has continued to grow and is one of our many maintenance clients who we create new functionality for on a regular basis.
